The Lady Musketeers defeated visiting New Washington last night to round out Southern Athletic Conference play undefeated and as Conference Champions. The win runs their overall record to 23-5, 7-0 as they go into a much deserved weekend off after 4 straight Saturdays of heavy competition. The Varsity squad won in straight sets (25-11, 25-8, 25-10) behind Addie Smith's 24 assists, 13 aces, 7 digs, 3 kills. and 1 block. Avery Smith contributed 14 kills, Sidney Burton had 8 aces and 6 digs, Leah Hobson had 8 kills and Emma Brawner had 6 kills. Eliza Starrett had 4 digs as the Lady M's controlled the game primarily at the service line through the night. The JV squad won in two sets (25-19, 25-13) as Lilly Gonzalez had 6 kills and Genesis Stanfill had 3 kills. Aubrey Mollett had 2 aces and 7 digs. The final week of the regular season is next week as the ladies travel to Crawford County on Monday, CAI on Tuesday and West Washington on Thursday. The State Tournament draw is on Sunday and can be viewed via the IHSAA Champions Network online. This year's Volleyball Sectional will be at Clarksville.
