Eastern hosted Salem last night at the All For One Arena for senior night and came away with a 3 set victory to improve to 21-5 on the season as the tournament approaches. The 6th ranked Lady M's won 25-11, 25-12, 25-15 on the way to their 5th straight win with games at Austin (tonight) and against New Washington this Thursday at the AFO. The seniors lead the way on their recognition night with Avery Smith notching 16 kills and a .583 attack percentage to go with 9 digs and 1 block. Addie Smith had 7 kills, 6 Aces, 5 digs and 27 assists. Sidney Burton had 7 kills, 9 digs and 2 aces, and Eliza Starrett had 13 digs and a service Ace herself. Juniors Leah Hobson (4 kills) and Emma Brawner (1 kill, 3 blocks) made solid contributions at the net along sophomore Ashton Johanningsmeier (2 kills and 2 Aces). Allie Johanningsmeier had 3 digs and 2 Aces as well. The 21-5 Lady Musketeers play at Austin tonight. The JV squad avenged an early season loss to the Lions with an exciting two set victory as well.
