Baseball team pounces on Wolfpack for 15-5 win, Middle School squad sweeps Scottsburg

Senior Martin Lewen returned to the Musketeer line-up to drive in 4 runs as the Varsity squad defeated Crawford County in a 15-5 win on Friday. Lewen, who had been out with a broken orbital bone, returned to the line up and hit a homerun in his first at bat in the bottom of the first to give the Musketeers the lead. He later added to his RBI total with two singles that drove in a run apiece. Freshman Johnathan Anderson got the win going 5 innings on the mound while giving up three earned runs and striking out three. Senior, Bobo Reschar and Lewen each collected 3 hits, Conner Gilstrap had two and Gavin Odum collected three walks. The Musketeers improved to 5-9 and are continuing to improve on their win total from last year that saw them win only 2 games. The Musketeers host Lanesville on Tuesday at Larry Ingram Field. ****************************************************************************************************************************** The Middle School Musketeers improved to 13-2 after sweeping Scottsburg's teams in a double-header. In game one, the lads won 6-4. Drake Deremiah collected the win in relief, going 3.2 innings giving up 3 hits, 1run and striking out 3. In Game two, the Musketeers powered their way to a 6-4 win behind Reas Sater's 3 run homer in the third inning, a no doubter to right center. Alton Swartz got the win on the mound and Reece Lindley got the save. In addition to Sater's bomb, Carter Smith and Lindley both had doubles and Cooper Hurst went 2-3 with an RBI. Kylan Roll and Lindley accounted for the other two RBIs in the win. The Middle School Musketeers play at Larry Ingram Field on Thursday against Charlestown.
