Eastern's boys and girls track team traveled to Brownstown Central last night to compete on blistery evening that often happens in the spring sports season. The boys team competed against the Braves, but couldn't get over the hump, losing 114 to 42. Top scorers for the Musketeers included the 4 x 100 relay team who took 1st place. Freshman Jeffrey Fowler placed second in the long jump at 18'4" and Lincoln Colvin placed second in the pole vault at 5'6" in his first year of vaulting. On the girl's side, the Lady Musketeers defeated Brownstown Central behind several 1st place finishes and individual Personal Records. Juniors Abby Fowler, Maddie Gosnell, Addie Smith and Avery Smith all made big contributions to the win. Fowler placed 1st in the 100m dash, 200m dash, and Long Jump. Gosnell placed 2nd in the pole vault. Addie Smith placed 1st in the 100m Hurdles and 300m Hurdles and sister Avery Smith placed 1st in the shot put and 2nd in the 100m dash. The Lady Musketeers got a lot of mileage out of sophomore distance standout, Katie Hauner as she placed 1st in the 800m dash, 1600m dash, and 3200m dash. Sophomore Emma Brawner placed 3rd in the 200m dash. Freshman Isabella Hunt placed 1st in the 400m dash and 2nd in the Long Jump. The relays did very well with first place finishes in the 4x100 (Av. Smith, Ad. Smith, Brawner, and Fowler) and 4x400 (Av. Smith, Ad. Smith, Hauner, and Hunt) and a 2nd place finish in the 4x800 (Abby Coy, Chloe Shackleford, Taylor Brading and Madalynn Gosnell).
