Eastern High School is excited to introduce Jordan Williams as it's 5th Head Football Coach since beginning the program in 2007. Jordan brings a youthful energy, passion for coaching the game of football and a strong desire to inspire young people to become their best. Williams also brings a wealth of experience and a winning mentality that will help the Musketeers build success both on and off the field. Jordan is a graduate of Charlestown High School having played and coached under longtime, successful coach Jason Hawkins. Jordan played for Hawkins from 2007 to 2009 and was part of the program's turnaround to become a perennial 3A and MSC winner. In 2018, Williams got his start in coaching as the head JV coach for the Pirates under Hawkins. In 2019, Williams then followed Dave Papenhaus to the Silver Creek and served on his staff at the high school. Having been mentored by two highly successful head coaches in Hawkins and Papenhaus, Jordan was able to cut his teeth in coaching before eventually taking over the Silver Creek middle school program and developing it to be one of the most successful middle school programs in the Southern Indiana. Williams took over as the head coach of the Silver Creek middle school program and grew it from 25 kids in his first season to 90 kids last year. Williams prides himself on fostering positive relationships with his student-athletes and believes that relationships and care is where success begins. Williams plans to focus on nurturing the character of each athlete by emphasizing the importance of hard work, resilience and community values. This philosophy aligns with the vision of the Musketeer athletic program making Williams a good fit for our school, community and football program. "Coaching is not just about winning games; it is about building a community and empowering young athletes to reach their full potential," said Williams. "I am incredibly excited to get involved and make a positive impact in the lives of our players and their families. Together, we can create a winning culture that extends beyond the field." Eastern believes that Williams ability to develop positive relationships is a great place to begin, while inspiring our athletes to grow not only as student-athletes, but of equal importance, as positive members of our community. Williams will teach ELA in the middle school this semester and looks forward to using that as a positive opportunity to build relationships and culture with the East Washington middle school students during the school day. He plans to strive to have a lasting and positive impact on the Musketeer community. Please join us in welcoming Jordan Williams and his family to the All For One Family at the East Washington School Corporation. #SwordsUP
