Musketeer Wrestling hosts Southwestern (Hanover). The Rebels won the event 54-30, but the Musketeers showed a lot of promise in each of the matches that they fielded a wrestler in. Southwestern benefitted from 5 forfeits on the night to accrue 30 easy points while the Musketeers benefitted from only 2 Rebel forfeits. In head to head matches, the Musketeers won 3 matches with Colton Pickerill winning 175, Connor Cleek 190 and Micah Tucker at 285. Southwestern won 4 head to head matches. Put the forfeits aside and the Musketeers lost by 1 weight class 24-18. The Musketeer coaching staff, lead by Montanna Knight, will continue working to build a hard-working and team first culture that will continue to improve each day. We are continuing to search for potential wrestlers in all weight classes and have currently openings in 113, 126 and 138 weight classes. In addition, Trinity Tyndall, Gabby Smith and Jazzmen Grangier form Eastern's first team of female wrestlers in the new IHSAA sanctioned girls wrestling sport. The staff is continuing to work to recruit girl wrestlers and build a competitive team as well.
