Eastern Claims First Conference Victory

Eastern snagged their first conference victory on the road this evening against the North Harrison Cougars. Eastern had a slow start that put them in a 10 point deficit at the end of the first. Eastern slowed down the Cougars in the second quarter, but the lead stayed with a halftime score 16-25. Coming out of the half, the Musketeers. entered with a new energy. They outscored the Cougars 13-8 in the third quarter. Coming into the fourth quarter, the Musketeers were down by four and cranked up the defense. The Musketeers forced the Cougars to make multiple turnovers that lead to Eastern buckets. A game changer for the Musketeers was junior Addie Smith knocking down 11 free throws in the fourth quarter and ending the game with 23 points. The Musketeers finished the game with a victory over the Cougars. The final score was 52-45. The Musketeers are hoping this is the first of many conference wins and plan to claim their next MSC victory on Saturday at home against the Austin Lady Eagles.
