The Lady Musketeers hosted the 2023 2A State Runners Up, Brownstown Central Lady Braves on Tuesday night. This was a very challenging opening match and a great experience for the development of this young team as they played against a very high-level team in front of a large crowd. The Lady Musketeers were competitive in the early going of each of the sets, before the wheels fell off. In the first set, the score was 8-8 before the Braves took advantage and gained momentum in route to a 25-9 win. In the second set, the Lady Musketeers competed deeper into the set before the Braves went on a similar run to win 25-14. Finally in the 3rd set, the Lady Musketeers battled to a 20-20 tie before the Braves were able to take advantage of some errors on their way to a 25-20 win and 3 set victory. Overall, the ladies improved in each set of the match while learning a lot about what it takes.
