Wins have been difficult to come by this year for a young and inexperienced Eastern boys basketball team that is lead by lone senior, Brody Temple at around 11 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 3.5 apg. Temple and junior Gavin Hurst brought the only serious Varsity experience to the squad to begin the year and provide the bulk of the leadership for the young squad. Temple has had to carry a big part of the load for the Musketeers in all aspects of the game including helping handle the basketball as a point forward. On Tuesday, Temple nearly had a double double with 13 pts and 9 rebounds to go with 5 defensive deflections in helping lead the Musketeers to a road win against RCA. Freshman point guard, Carter Smith went 4 for 5 from three-point land and added 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Junior Trenton Friedmeyer hit double figures with 11 points and chipped in 2 assists, 2 steals and 4 deflections. The Musketeers will recognize their lone senior, Brody Temple along with senior cheer and band members on Thursday night against Brownstown Central.
